The Student Dormitory Palacin is located 1.56 km away from the Polytechnic of Šibenik and only 2 km from the Šibenik waterfront and the historic part of the city and offers accommodation for 332 students in 26 single, 138 double and 10 triple rooms. Šibenik is situated in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic Coast, in the picturesque and indented bay where the Krka River, one of the most beautiful karst rivers in Croatia enters the sea. Today Šibenik, with 46,332 inhabitants, is the administrative, political, economic and socio-cultural center of the Šibenik-Knin County. Šibenik is famous for its cultural and historical sights and natural beauties, and boasts two monuments under the protection of UNESCO, the Cathedral of St. James and the St. Nicholas' fortress as well as the two national parks, Krka and Kornati. There are even three fortresses in the city: St. Michael's, Barone, St. John's and St. Nicholas' on the sea side with a beautiful view over the St. Anthony's Channel and the city of Šibenik. Life in student dormitory Palacin is organized on the basis of student needs and requests, including a very good standard of living. Accommodation facilities are covered by fire alarm system, hydrant system and fire extinguishers. Student dormitory also has a camera surveillance system. Erasmus students can be accommodated in double rooms that share a bathroom and rooms with their own bathroom. Each room disposes of the following inventory: bed and mattress, large closet, shelfs, cork board, working desk, chair, mini kitchen with refrigerator and kitchen accessories. Bathroom is equipped with: sink, shower, mirror and toilet seat and cover. Student dormitorie contains restaurant, classroom, exercise area (mini gym), self-service laundry room, lobby and meeting room.
